As a Christmas elf on behalf of the Bavarian Digital Ministry, we at lyniat.games created a hidden object game as an interactive greeting from the State Minister for Digital Affairs Judith Gerlach. You can play it here (free):
„Since my childhood, I have always wanted to create computer games. So back in 2010, I started learning C# and unity and released some games like *Texas Shoot’Em*, *SPC Game* and *Loot A Lot* on the Google Play Store. In 2014 I enrolled at Regensburg University for Media Informatics and Information Science and got my B.A. in 2018. During my studies, I was teaching Java and Android classes and joined the Physical-Digital Affordances Group where I did research until September 2019. After that, I founded *lyniat.games GmbH* and started my own business as an indie gamedev and freelancer at TechBase Regensburg.“
„When I was 14 years old, I started to play the guitar and sing along to songs I was listening to. Music has changed my life and I started to make music more and more professionally. As my wish to produce my music on my own grew, I enrolled at Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden for the B. Eng. Media Production and Technology to learn more about audiovisual media and design. Therefore, my initial wish to produce music turned into a desire to produce all types of media. As my education is pretty diversified, I am now happy to work for lyniat.games to create content and models in the indie gamedev industry. Furthermore, I joined lyniat to co-lead his business as a CEO so that we can present and publish our masterpieces as soon as possible to you.“
„I love programming and especially indie game development. I have been into games since I was young. What fascinates me most are the infinite possibilities of how your fantasies can become reality. I successfully completed an apprenticeship as a mathematical technical software developer with Continental and got to know Korbinian Fischer there. Shortly after that, we completed our first games such as Cracky Bridge, RegQuest, Space Meteor und Teaventures together. In 2019 we founded Teavelop to create professional mobile games on a long-term basis. Since 2020 I have been working alongside Laurin Muth with the common goal of building lyniat.games into a solid game company. More about me: niklas-reinhold.com„
„Fantasy stories have always fascinated me. Over time, I read so many of them that I slowly learned to identify the basic elements of a good story and developed a remarkable active vocabulary. Since then I have used this knowledge to lead game evenings and to write puzzle poems and short stories. As a board member of a student association (750 members) I acquired useful soft skills. The VDE (German Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies) honored me for my presentation technique and I was engaged several times as a moderator at events. I am currently finishing my studies of vocational education in electrical engineering with a minor in computer science with my bachelor thesis, in which I investigate the use of serious games in vocational education. I have been working with fantasy and eloquence for lyniat.games since spring 2020.“
„My passion for video games started with my old, dusty SEGA Master System when I was about 14 years old. Since then, the magic of virtual worlds and especially the possibilities to enchant people with them has become a major point of interest to me. I have always been a creative person, a story teller, carrying an art journal wherever I went. After I enroled at the University of Regensburg, to start my studies at the media informatics faculty, I was also passionate about my art classes in which I enroled as well. During my game engineering courses, I was eager to improve my knowledge about the Unity Game Engine and created assets, 3D models, animations, concept art and videos. To support my fellow student colleagues in 3D modeling, I became a tutor in this field for one semester. After I finished my bachelors degree in the field of virtual reality and digital reconstruction, I decided to further enhance my skills by getting my masters degree in game engineering as well. In addition, I was employed as working student at Continental as a graphical user interface designer, where I gained a lot of experience and understood the importance of user experience design in all fields of human machine interaction. After studying abroad for a semester at the University of Vienna, I started working as a freelancer for Teavelop to support their game with my design skills. I can’t wait to tackle our projects here at lyniat.games and I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life.“
„It all started together with Niklas Reinhold. We used the idle times during our training as mathematical-technical software developers to occupy ourselves with game development until, at the end of our training, we realized that we complement each other perfectly as a team of 2 and so we founded Teavelop. After developing several small projects we released our first major mobile game Teaventures at the beginning of 2020. Of all tasks in game development, 3D design and animation are those I like best. „Unlike many others in the lyniat.games team I don’t have a huge game development background. Nonetheless I find a lot of joy in the work I’m doing here. For me, game development is a perfect playground for putting everything into practice that is part of modern computer science. What I really strive for is getting the job DONE. I want to be able to create beauty out of utter nothingness, turn ideas into reality. I see myself as a creative person and as such I need to learn tools to express myself – tools that are as publicly available now as they had never been before in history.“
„I tend to name myself the ‚quota senior‘ of the team – or ’senior intern‘ even (please type slowly when writing me an email!). But hey, playing and creating computer games is an all-ages passion, isn’t it? Having degrees in mechanics engineering and computer science, I worked in production, development and software engineering for like 25 years or so. Most positions were related to automotive products. Finally, I decided to dive into something new and make a long cherished dream come true: To develop games! You don’t know it if you don’t try it, right? In 2019, I’ve first met the lyniat.games people at a Regensburg games meetup (which they initiated btw). Now, I’m flattered to be part of the team.
I’m also voluntarily involved in a local green energy cooperative and do like SF&F Books and series. Occasionally playing PnP RPGs since the 1980s, too. You might want to check out my private website mikoweb.eu, which is about game programming and some other stuff. Ah, and I fail at any type of sports.“
